Program 3648: What is your first name and the area where you live?

Wanda: Wanda and Escondido,CA.

Program 3648: Can you please briefly explain what happened in your case?

Wanda: Well, let’s see.  I was on disability for four months and at the same time going to school, then I wasn’t able to keep up with my mortgage.

Program 3648: Okay.  Wanda, how did you hear about your Certified Program 3648 Representative, Ms. Jan Hickerson?

Wanda: From a neighbor who went through her.

Wanda: Well, I felt a lot better because I knew she would be able to do the job that was required.

Wanda: Oh, she took care of everything. [Laughter]

Program 3648: That’s a good thing.  Was there anything particular?  What did you like most about Ms. Hickerson and the work that she did for you?

Wanda: Very professional, very personable, easy to like.

Program 3648: Okay.  Wanda, I know a lot of foreclosure scams are out there.  They charge homeowners money and they’re not providing any help for them, and Program 3648 scam prevention efforts have done a lot to help homeowners understand that they can get real help for free.  How did it feel for you to receive all of the help and services that Ms. Jan Hickerson provided at absolutely no cost to you?

Wanda: I feel so good because I tried going through an attorney and paid $2,500.00 to get a loan modification, which he took me and several others of his clients for a ride.  It was really good that Jan didn’t charge me anything.
